Art in various fashions fascinated Valerie from a very young age. Her love of the subject prompted her to join the Woodlands Art League where she engages in mainly oil portrait painting. Valerie is also on the Board of Directors for the Woodlands Art Council. Her works won multiple local awards including first place in her category as well as second place in the 2015 Lone Star Art Guild, made up of 16 independent art leagues located in and around the Houston area.
She also serves her community as a United Way Young Leader, and Junior Achievement advocate. Valerie is an avid swimmer, a Houston symphony supporter, violinist, loves watching the Astros, reading, and golfing.
Valerie was previously a Commercial Advisor for Anadarko Petroleum Company where she specializes in strategic planning, evaluation of competitive landscapes, and leading acquisitions and divestitures. Valerie currently sits on the Women's Global Leadership Conference Advisory Board and Anadarko’s Petrotech Women's Resource Group Steering Committee as well as being active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers. In 2013, the society selected her as Young Engineer of the Year. Valerie graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and was honored in 2016 as a Texas A&M University’s Young Alumni Spotlight Award. Valerie obtained her Executive MBA at Rice University where the Faculty nominated her for a Rice Citizenship Award. Her Executive MBA focused on Strategic Innovation Management, Operations Strategy, Finance and Law. She enjoys being faculty teaching MBA students at Rice University Business School as well as serving on their Alumni Advisory Board.
Valerie founded Radiant Strategies, LLC (www.radiantstrategiesllc.com) in 2017 which focuses on business process efficiencies particularly for the health care industry.
